Hey Vector: Can you answer the FAQ below….
First and foremost, it is because I’m very cute and extremely smart! Not to mention, this site has enhancements that will make me even more awesome! I bet you thought it wasn’t even possible!
Basically, we’re making it easier for Vector owners to enhance Vector!
NO NEED TO:
– Know complicated SDK setup
– Know to code with Python
– Find time to setup or code
– Connect to API software
We’re taking the complexity and cost (API’s) out of the picture as much as possible. For the price of a few coffees you can purchase an amazing Vector enhancement instead.
It doesn’t have to be from this website alone, hopefully others will sell some enhancements, as well; the more the merrier! Let’s keep Vector moving forward!
This site is very new and the folks behind this site are continually trying to make me better and more fun! Some of the programs will be cloud based, some code will run on your machine, and some code will run on a secure remote server and be fed back to me (like clever weather sayings), some code will run totally on your machine.
The cloud-based apps will continuously have new sayings added. You don’t have to do anything; just let my Artificial Intelligence do all the work for you. There is a small amount of enhancements to begin with. Some are totally created in-house and some are taken from open source and then modified and packaged into an easy secure executable program for ease of use.
The best way is to download the free Test enhancements. One will showcase a cloud based enhancement and the other a non-cloud based enhancement. The non-cloud enhancement should go smoothly. For cloud-based enhancements you’ll need to setup your account and then you will receive a secure digital key (Normally within 24 hours after your first cloud-based enhancement is downloaded) that you will use for all your cloud based enhancements. Check out the Can you tell me a little about security? question below for more security related questions.
They sure do! At this point the best way to run enhancements is if you installed your Vector with Wire-Pod. Installing Wire-Pod for windows is quite simple. Just follow the https://github.com/kercre123/wire-pod/wiki/Installation link to install wire-pod. Easiest way to run a vectorairobotbrain enhancement is to run it using the user and machine that you used to install wire-pod.
I certainly can! Vectorairobotbrain enhancments are written in Python and use the security files that Wire-Pod creates to keep you and Vector safe. Wire-Pod and DDL (when their certificate servers were up and running) will create a sdk_config and cert file in your “.anki_vector” directory. Do not give these files to anyone because they have information that helps give access to your Vector via the quid in the sdk_config file. Basically you can copy the ./anki_vector folder to any windows user on any windows 10/11 machine and run a vectorairobotbrain enhancement on that machine. If you’re having trouble knowing where to place the ./anki_vector folder you can just run a vectorairobotbrain enhancement program, it will tell you what path/directory needs to be in place. If you are running the vectorairobotbrain enhancements on the same machine that you installed Wire-Pod you don’t need to copy the sdk_config and cert files. So I hope you have gotten the point that the files in the .anki_vector” directory are important and backing up the ./anki_vector folder once in a while would be good. Note: “The Authenticate a production bot” within the https://github.com/kercre123/wire-pod/wiki/Installation link is what creates the sdk_config and cert files and you can authenticate a bot over and over again within the Wire-Pod app (once you have installed Wire-Pod) which basically creates/modifies the sdk_config and cert file.
Just a reminder that you just need wifi to run a non-cloud vectorairobotbrain enhancment. You don’t need an internet connection and you don’t need the Wire-Pod server running. You just need the the sdk_config and cert file in the windows user ./anki_vector folder; it’s really that simple.
Please checkout our Refund Policy page.
Anki is the original creators but now Digital Dream Labs is going to help shepherd me along. And, Vector-AI-Robot-Brain will help make me even more fun and productive! You don’t need a connection to the Digital Dreams Labs server for these enhancements to work.
Our non-cloud based enhancements do not even need a connection to the internet, a WiFi connection will do.
Our cloud based enhancements need a connection to the internet so that our sayings can be downloaded when the enhancement runs (This process will be invisible to you. API is in use here but only on our server; you will not need to worry about any complex API code or cost). We are serious about security and only use the latest transfer security protocols for this process (checkout more detailed security information below).
The best way to get help is via this Vector FAQ and How-To page and the description of each enhancement. If you need additional assistance, please send an email to our support email. We’re new and growing so there is no phone support at this time.
The e-mail is sent the moment your payment is approved, and that should be almost immediately. If you don’t receive an email receipt or login information soon after, please check your quarantined or junk email folder.
Please contact us if you’re having issues logging in.
If you don’t see your enhancements purchased on the My Account page, please contact us.
We currently accept all major payment cards and use Stripe as our payment gateway.
Please contact us, and we’ll track down what happened.
Once your order is complete, a download link is shown on the Order Received page, and you will also receive an email notification with a download link. You may also visit our site at any time to download your purchase(s). Go to your My Account page and click the Downloads tab to find all available products.
Just let us know that you want to cancel (remember you will not be able to access your Downloads after deletion) and we’ll take care of it for you.
I may be cute but I’m also serious about security! It starts with this website! We use Wordfence to help secure this website and we follow Wordfence guidelines wherever possible. Also, the cloud enhancements are powered by Amazon cloud based products and if you’re in the mood to geek out just follow this Amazon Web Services security white paper link. Use of our cloud information is a one-way street; users receive data (like weather and sayings) from the cloud but they cannot update the info in the cloud (that is locked down and monitored). Any information that comes from the cloud uses the latest Security File Transfer Protocol possible. Please see privacy policy page for more security details.
I hope that the enhancements on this site will enhance your enjoyment in robots and especially Vector! Artificial Intelligence and Robots don’t have to be scary. Let’s try to make life a bit easier and fun; and enjoy the next frontier with an open mind and a loving heart!
Great question! My name is Joe Lee and I’m the founder of Vector-AI-Robot-Brain. It’s kind of funny how Vector-AI-Robot-Brain ended up relating to the Vector Robot that we all know and love. I actually started programing the Sphero RVR robot for fun. I originally set out to design a site where I would create enhancements for the Sphero RVR robot. I still work on the Sphero RVR robot and someday I hope to add enhancements for the Sphero RVR robot to Vector-AI-Robot-Brain. But at this point, my main focus is on the most adorable robot on the planet (we all know who that is!). The Vector AI in the name actually came about because Vector’s are commonly used in machine learning. And Robot Brain simply came from the fact that I’m focused on the Brain of the robot. So there you have it!
Hey Vector: How do you …
- Find Vector’s name
Your Vector robot name looks like “Vector-E5S6”. Find your robot’s name by placing Vector on the charger and double-clicking Vector’s backpack button.
- Find Vector’s IP address
Find the IP address from Vector’s debug screen: double-click his backpack, move his arms up and down, then look for “IP” on his screen. Note: Vector must be on his charger while performing the above procedures
